Unit 09: Trigonometric Functions

This is a ninth unit of the book “Model Textbook of Mathematics for Class XI” published by National Book Foundation (NBF) as Federal Textbook Board, Islamabad, Pakistan. On this page we have provided the solutions of the questions.

After reading this unit the students will be able to

• Find the domain and range of the trigonometric functions.
• Discuss even and odd functions, and periodicity of trigonometric functions.
• Find the maximum and minimum value of a given function of the type:
  • $a+b \sin \theta$,
  • $a+b \cos \theta$,
  • $a+b \sin(c \theta+d)$,
  • $a+b \cos(c \theta+d)$
  • The reciprocal of above, where $a, b, c$ and $d$ are real numbers.
• Graph and analyze the trigonometric funcions $\sin \theta$, $\cos \theta$ and $\tan \theta$
