What is the value of $\pi$?

• (A) 3.1415
• (B) $\frac{22}{7}$
• (C) $\frac{333}{160}$
• (D) None of these ✔

The number π is a mathematical constant, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It is an irrational number, meaning that it cannot be written as the ratio of two integers or in terminating or repeated decimals.

Irrational numbers cannot be written as the ratio of integers or we cannot write it in decimal representation. It is other thing that they have non-recurring and non-terminating decimal representational. Who knows such type of representational of number? we can just imagine it to understand the concept of irrational number. So we use rational approximations of irrational number for real time calculations or we use some symbols or other notations to represent irrational number.

e.g $\pi=3.14159\ldots$, $\sqrt{2}=1.4142\ldots$ and $e=2.718\ldots$. (we don't know what is in dots and after dots)

Lets come toward the answer of our question. We see A, B and C are rational approximation of $\pi$. Therefore D is the answer.
